Just so you know I found out a couple weeks ago you can actually still add people to your friend's list even if your game is open, idk how it works, but I've done it before and since going into your friends list doesn't "suspend" (I've done this several times) your game you can go where ever you need to in your friends list and when you go to your homescreen again you can just resume even if you never saved. Just make sure and watch for "suspend application" on your ds and when that shows up make sure you hit cancel if you ever do. Haven't tried this with anything besides the friend's list so idk for sure how it works with the other apps but I know for sure it does for that one.
