Many colleges are begginning to offer scholarships for the quickly growing game, "League of Legends." This game is among a few others that have been added to colleges' ESports. What do you think about this?
 
I'm not too sure how I feel about this. Maybe it irks me that being a "Pro-Gamer" contributes nothing to society, or maybe I'm upset that I paid a huge chunk of cash for my education and worked my ass off to be able to work in a kitchen, and here comes glorified couch potatoes earning more in one match that I ever will in a lifetime.

(Guess its time to check out League of Legends since its getting that popular. :p Never played it before.)


Oh wait I can't play it since I have to download it...BUMMER! :(

Though part of me also agrees with the "glorified couch potato" sentiment, I'd also argue that in terms of some kind of meaningful contribution to society, pro-gaming isn't much different than pro-sports. To some people, they mean a lot. But on the whole, they don't really.
 
More trolls, hooray. Don't forget to add to the goals how to infect an already bad community.

The same could be said for any pro sport.
 
heard abt this long ago and im goign 2 get gudd in lol kjust for a scholarship thank s i cant wait now i have a chanc

but seriously idc its just a game idc if u get a scholarship for being gay at football or somethin. im hoping i could get a music one but i doubt it so i just habve to rely on my smarts?1
 
Wow this is quite crazy, but perhaps not surprising. Pokemon championships offer money and scholarships I hear, so it isn't a new concept to have scholarships for video games.
