Second Player in Town: Questions

I love using qr codes for dresses, pictures, etc. But I also love have full set paths. I figured I could use a second player to hold my path designs. But I had some concerns.

1. Will the 2nd player constantly be mentioned by my other villagers, like on City Folk?
2. Will my villagers ask for me to give them messages & gifts once again, like in past games?
3. Does the second player have to unlock things on their own?

For 1 & 2, to avoid them even mentioning your secondary character I wouldn't talk to any villager at all. Just use them to hold your paths and you don't need to do anything else on them. IIRC, they don't even ping you to move out if you don't introduce yourself. I have a fourth alt that never gets mentioned because he hasn't talked to any villagers yet. I think they only mention their birthdays? Not sure. If you've already unlocked/upgraded mainstreet, you wont need to unlock that again. However, you will have to upgrade your own house, unlock the secret storage, and unlock the QR machine again.

I have three other characters, besides my main one. I only use them for QR code’s and to show case my sets. I just don’t talk to the villagers, and they villagers don’t talk to me. One a long time ago, I’m pretty sure one did try to tell my other character they were moving. I thought that was pretty weird. That was back when villagers would leave you if you stopped playing the game for even a few days though. Haven’t had them bug my characters since.
