Second Museum Floor

I'm trying to unlock the second museum floor. I have donated 20 items, and one of each category. I know that you unlock it by talking to Blathers when he is thinking.

My question is, do you just have to check the museum if Blathers is thinking just once per day, or do I have a possibility of triggering the event just by walking in and out of the museum numerous times?

No idea, it happened to me randomly one day, not sure if it has to be after 6pm when he's usually awake or not...

Oh yeah, I was wondering about that too. It seems likely but I'm not sure.

The earliest you can unlock is after two weeks, as you need to have spoken with him on 14 different days, even if you had nothing to donate. So keep talkin'! c:

I probably have spoken to him 14 times. This isn't a really new save file, I just haven't been able to get a hold of legit art until recently.

I don't know if you have to talk to him 14 days in a row....when I did he suggested the cafe, but I don't know if it was a coincidence.

I just started a new town and spoke to him 14 times for the museum 2nd floor. Got it.
You need to donate at least one item from each section. He was wake when I walked in.
Don't think you need to talk to him for the caf?. But I was talking to him everyday to get my fossil checked.

Happened randomly to me, actually -- but it took some time for me to find Blathers thinking and offering the idea.
