Sea shells

Do they count as trash if you place them on the ground? I really want to decorate with them.

I decorated my beach with a ton of shells, and it didn't affect my town status at all, so you should be fine I think they're like mushrooms, they don't count as trash, because they're 'natural' things I guess.

I remember reading somewhere that they only count as trash if you place them anywhere other than the beach? I might be wrong though someone would have to check me on that :0

No, they don't. I've asked this question before since I've decorated my town with them and people have said they don't (even when they're not on the beach). I'm not completely sure, but I can ask Isabelle about my town rating and see if she talks about them.
