Go further back and read your own first post.Bulerias said:"Glad to know your mother isn't judgmental or anything, and would never judge someone's character based on their success or face."Mino said:Back up and re-read what has just been said very slowly, and I think you might get what is going on.Bulerias said:How does her face being on everything relate to the photo shoots? Or are you implying that my mom calls every successful person a "prostitute-in-the-making"? Sorry man, your logic either fails, or is beyond what I can comprehend. Probably the former.Mino said:I have seen it, but you said her face was on everything, and your mom obviously knows she is a successful actress on Disney or whatever.
And your topic sucks *CEN-1.01-SORD*.
My mom was not judging by success or face, nor even by the insane amount of exposure of said face... but mostly by the Vanity Fair photos. OK...

Yes... and? Miley's success did not factor into my mom's opinion...
Oh, sorry. I was too lazy to read this thread about something I don't care about.Propaganda Man said:That's what I said D:JJRamone2 said:Hehe, reminds me of that South Park episode, "Looks like it's time for the next harvest"

You are forgiven. Though, I'm not sure why you are sorry when you have nothing to be sorry about regardless of the fact that you were being sarcastic.JJRamone2 said:Oh, sorry. I actually wasn't being sarcastic. I didn't read the thread because I didn't care about the subject, I wouldn't have said the reference had I known you had already made it, that would just be redundant.Propaganda Man said:You are forgiven. She was buying something for the daughter of a friend... some girly stuff... and saw Miley Cyrus on a lot of the products. Then came that comment. HOWEVER -- my mom didn't call her a prostitute because her face was on the products, but because of the Vanity Fair thing. The products merely reminded her of it. Hence, my mom already formulated judgment BEFORE seeing the products...
Honestly man. This shouldn't be too hard to understand.
Its just the media being well... the media. Its as if they're trying to make a new Brittany, antagonizing her, wait for her to screw up once. Just so they can report it.Mino said:All I have to draw on is what you have said, don't expect me to have known everything that has gone on.Bulerias said:Sorry, you're still not making any sense.Mino said:Go further back and read your own first post.Bulerias said:"Glad to know your mother isn't judgmental or anything, and would never judge someone's character based on their success or face."Mino said:Back up and re-read what has just been said very slowly, and I think you might get what is going on.Bulerias said:How does her face being on everything relate to the photo shoots? And the Vanity Fair thing was not at all inappropriate. Photography is art, for chrissake.
Don't we have Hannah Montana for that reason?only_half_evil333 said:Its just the media being well... the media. Wow, best post I've seen in a while.Bulerias said:(SD#1 stands for Serious Discussion #1. As evidenced by the "#1", I hope to post more of these in the future).
Child stars. They're cute, aren't they? Yeah, during the first few years, maybe. After that, things get ugly. Everyone knows what happened to people like Britney Spears, Judy Garland, Gary Coleman, Lindsay Lohan, and Drew Barrymore (who was an alcoholic by age 9, and a pothead by age 10). It's obvious that too much attention, especially at an early age, has disastrous outcomes. So who's next on "child star death row"?
Miley Cyrus, of course.
Just today, my mom and I went out for groceries. On the way, we stopped at a Target store. We're greeted by various posters, toys, and clothes with Miley's face on them. My mom's reaction? "I'm not buying anything that has that prostitute-in-the-making's face on it."
"So, mom, I'm assuming you saw the Vanity Fair thing..."
To be fair, she didn't actually pose nude; but hell, the photos sure give off a different impression. "Artistic"? At 15? Give me a freaking break! The success is getting to her head; I'd probably go crazy if I saw my face staring back at me on near every single product in any given store. Give Miley a few more years, the rate this is going, and we'll be hearing about her hair-shaving escapades and rehab stays.
Honestly, is our society really that stupid? "Hannah Montana"... my God, someone actually considers that stuff "music"? But I'm not gonna go into the topic of "deterioration of society" just yet... I'll save that for Serious Discussions #2 : )
So yeah... discuss! I'd appreciate if the replies in this thread were thought out... and preferably longer than a few sentences.
Well, smart guy, how about you post a "serious" topic that's interesting AND appropriate for the boards.Ky!e said:Oh, I remembered why I didn't post at all in this topic.
This topic is not the least bit intresting.
