Scorpions

My poor other half... every time he sees a scorpion in his town he freaks out and panics. So sweet <3
I just happened to catch mine- any tips on how he can get one without being stung?

Well, don't walk round town with your net out, for one. Keep it unequipped, but have it so you can quickly equip it with the d-pad. Try to carefully sneak up behind it, but stop if it turns around. At least, these are tips that I've been told.

I freak out too and I end up being overcautious, so all of my scorpions/tarantulas end up despawning before I can catch them.

When its tail is moving don't move because its going to attack you. I was going to Re-tail and saw one and freaked so I ran and killed some hybrids. Just let it kill attack you if you can't be bothered lol

When I caught a scorpion it was facing me...I pulled out my net when it was turned around and caught it. I've never been killed - er, stung by one on New Leaf. I never even knew they'd attack if they saw you with a net, to be honest...
My tips? Walk carefully and, if it chases you, run into a villager's house or any building nearby.
...Unless it's waiting when you come out. But they don't do that...right?

If you find yourself being chased by the scorpion, there is a chance that you can still catch it. You'll need to run to your plaza and run around the tree until you can get enough space and then you can try and catch it again. It will still be in chase mode, but at least you'll have a second chance to try again, just pray you can get the timing right.

What, so even if you have your net out and don't move they'll still chase you?!
