Say what you will about NH, but I think it's really cool how...

You see your island progress from a deserted island into a full formed town or city. I've looked back into some of my older pics, and I know it hasn't been that long since release (though we're approaching the 1-month mark), it's funny how different it all looks! I can only imagine how more it will change, even more so, if future updates include more buildings or features (like, hopefully, bushes?).

I agree! I watched a video about NH earlier that showed some early gameplay, and I was amazed at how different my island looks in comparison to a new island!

I don't consider the Able Sisters and Nooks Cranny to be a fully formed town.

Even Wild World had a Nookington's.

I was hoping for an Emporium, on a different island.

They're clearly not saying your island transforms into a town because of the shops opening, it's because the work you put into it. No need to spread your negativity on someone's positive thread :/

My island feels SO different than it did before I got terraforming, and I'm not even halfway done with it!

I love that aspect too. When I restarted I remembered just how barren it is, and once it's decorated it truly feels like a town.

Need 10 more villagers, buildings, and NPC. Expand the island somehow like with a Island wand or something.

Don't worry about our resident grouch. John rarely has anything nice to say about the game.

I find myself going through my screen grabs quite often, and it amazes me just how quickly things change. From my character's style, to the landscape, inclines and bridges, animal villagers, stores and service buildings...it's all good stuff. I really appreciate the game way more than I thought I would. The experience has been nothing short of euphoric.

i was just thinking about that today! it's amazing how different my island looks compared to day 1.. and i feel much more attached to every decorated area of my town or even residential areas because I put in the work to craft and move things!

Now that I think about it, it does feel really different than how it was originally started, and I haven't used terraforming that much since I enjoy keeping the natural look of my island.

I wouldn't want that many. I like decorations and that would overcrowd the place. NPCs are lacking and so are buildings, I agree.

You prefer decoration over more villagers? Even so it optional if you want more villagers or not as Tom Nook will continue to sell plots. I would think villagers house count as decoration too does it not?

With that said, the map should be bigger and I mean much bigger. I can never understand why Nintendo continue to refuse to do this.

Yeah, it's optional but I still think 10 is plenty. I also do like decorations more than villagers.

I agree! The way the island changes, and the amount of effort that decorating and terraforming takes has made me really attached to my town. (And I feel like I'm not even half done at this point.)

Ah interesting. I feel that kind of the common trend for AC players. I guess everyone play AC differently but it suck to be in the minority.

With that said, don't it feel lonely if it just long stretches of furnitures but no villagers in sight? I mean isn't the game sole purpose revolves around your villagers? I still have the awful memory of how empty Wild World was and how it was badly nerf from the GC version. 15 down to 8.

How are you decorating your island? I'm making my island into a different game as I want it to be unique. Hence I got rid of all the cliff which was pretty time consuming. My island will be full of cliffs but it will be design through several sketches I made. I find the northern part of the island to be the most beautiful so I don't want to cover that part with the cliff. Of course since I don't TT, it will be another 14 to 15 days of moving every building to the beach area but I am super stoke. 300 plus hours, not even remotely burn out.
