So, Flurry the hamster was due to move out today. I haven't talked to her since she said she was going to move, and I am 100% positive that she said she was going to move. The villagers even kept talking about her moving. But today when I went on, she wasn't in boxes. She was outside. She pinged me and said something like "So I've been thinking about my decision to move...and decided that I'm going to stay here for awhile."

Say what now? I've never heard of a villager backing out of their decision on the moving day. UGH! I had promised to give her to someone too. :(

Has this ever happened to you?

Yeah plenty of times with me. When I had Ipswich, I had queenie, and she would constantly say she would move and then decide not to. :P

Yeah, it's happened to me before. It's always with the villagers that you really want to go.

OK, well I'm glad at least that it's not only me. I've had villagers back out of moving a few days before, but never the day of. So frustrating!

Yeah, I wanted Mitzi out but she decided to stay. I picked her up from someone's void and it crushed me that she decided to stay, especially since I was in a pending trade for another villager and I needed her gone to make space.

I get that a lot with newer villagers. I'll agree with them that they should move and they suddenly back out and decide to stay

they should take that out of the game. I've never heard of it but if it happened to me...

It's nearly happened to me before with Sylvia last year. I had really wanted her to move from my town since she was a random wifi encounter from when I was trying to get the train station remodel. She moved into my gold rose area and destroyed my perfectly new Jacob's Ladder I had gotten the day before. I hated her and when she finally moved I was like "YES! FINALLY!" Then the last day when she was supposed to go to a friend's town, she pinged me to stay. I don't even think I've ever hit the home button so fast. I exited the game and reloaded it on a new day at 6:01am and she was in boxes like she was supposed to be.

Honestly that should have also been my strategy for Diva when she backed out of moving too, but I completely goofed and saved instead of exited the game for some reason. I don't know what I was thinking, but it took me an extra week getting her to move out because of that mistake. I hope you can get Flurry out sooner than that, but I totally understand your pain.

This game is full of surprises. Never heard of them doing this on the day they are meant to be going..just had them get all offended when I say they can go. I kind of like these annoying elements tbh, makes the world feel more alive?

Wait, this can actually happen? I always thought that the moving date was basically the red-stamped eviction notice for villagers, but I guess not... I'll have to be careful when I have a villager that I want out moving, especially if I'm planning to trade them. I really do wonder which Nintendo worker had Satan crawl up into their brain and thus decide to create this possibility.

I can't count how many times Rizzo ended up not leaving. I kept having to postpone an adoption for Papi for a bit. It's so annoying and I honestly wish it didn't happen.

wow I've never heard of this! interesting! does anyone know what causes it? or is it random?

Maybe you have to keep talking to your villager after they decide to move? I've had villagers change their mind when they ask if they should move and I say yes, but never on the day they're suppose to move like that.
I hope you can get her to move again soon!

See, that's what usually happens to me. They'll agree to move, and then a few days later they ask if they should move again and I'll say yes and they will say no. But they've never just came up on moving day and been like "BTW, I'm not moving anymore." Without consulting me. That's why I was so shocked.

Flurry, you're on my naughty list. XD

I hate to not believe you but are you absolutely sure you were on her moving date? It sounds more like she pinged you about having second thoughts like the day before or something. I don't think it's possible for a villager to back out on the actual moving date.

Sorry but I'm skeptical.

Did you try leaving the game without saving when Flurry wanted to stay? Than TT to the next day to see if Flurry was gone.
If you never speak to them they should be gone.
