I think you're better off editing. Reason being is that if you get too jumpy and move things around too much, it can cause people to bypass the villager your selling. You want you auctions to appear stable. Another reason is that it pushes other people's threads off the board quicker and that may anger or frustrate others.

Oh, I don't mind. I just don't how others would feel about it.

I know that in the past if I was watching an auction/selling thread for a particular villager, sometimes I bookmarked their page. It is easier to keep track of an auction, etc. if it's not being closed and reopened elsewhere.
