Okay, so I have had my 3DS XL Blue for over 3 months now (got it 3/13/13) and I never noticed a problem until about May 20th or so, when my friend got her own 3DS XL Red. I was just using her 3DS for a second, helping her on Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, and I noticed something really weird about the Circle Pad. Hers was SO smooth to move compared to mine, it would almost glide all the way around smoothly without a hindering "Roughness" to it. I repeatedly moved both my 3DS' Circle Pad, and her 3DS' Circle Pad, and the difference was astounding. Mine is "Okay" but it feels rough and scratchy when being moved, especially in the lower position. It is so rough, that sometimes when I play Animal Crossing New Leaf, I noticed that when I am walking slowly downward, it makes my character twitch when turning. (Please note, I never noticed a sudden change in the smoothness of the Circle Pad in the time that I have had it. As far as I know, it always has been the same, but never noticed the roughness until I used such a smooth Circle Pad) I have looked it up on the Internet and have found that this is supposedly a somewhat well known problem for some 3DS XL systems... I have closely examined the Circle Pad and have made sure that it was clean, and tried the best that I could to see if anything had gotten down into the thing itself. Nothing. I read that for a few weeks someone would quickly move the Circle Pad in circles trying to get it broken in or something, maybe try to dislodge something stuck underneath it, and it fixed it, but I have tried this for a few days with a very small difference, if any at all. The Circle Pad has its good days and bad, but it has become a thing that I notice all the time and it drives me insane. This doesn't really affect gameplay in any way, but still, it is irritating. Anyone have the same problem or any tips on how to fix this? Any consideration is greatly appreciated. I really don't want to send it in for repairs or have to do any modifications to the device because it isn't all that serious, just a major annoyance.

Sorry for such an incredibly long post...

I've had mine (now my mum's!!) since February and it's still good, the other 2 we have are relatively new but no problems thus far. Whether they surface later, I'm not sure, but I've not heard of this problem. Will keep an eye on the thread though for future reference (you never know...)
