R'lyeh is a quaint island off the coast of Dunwitch township, located somewhere in the upper east coast of the US. With the economic growth coming into Dunwitch from the work put in by it’s mayor Q, R'lyeh began to also build up again thanks to the tourist industry. In the last few years most of the infrastructure of the island has been repaired with small vacation homes being built and the late 1700’s architecture of the remaining homes and businesses on the formerly abandoned island being recognized by historical societies with committees fundraising to repair and maintain them.
So far the three buildings that have received the most interest are the old bank, now the R'lyeh Historical Museum - a behemoth built of natural coral from the reefs off the coast, the Dark Waters Hotel - formerly the house of R'lyeh’s lighthouse keepers before it was converted into a hotel in 1890 only to be abandoned with the rest of the island in 1929 but now under new management and repaired to it’s former splendor, and the former minister’s home on the south-west coastline - converted into the Shaw Detective Agency.
Other points of interest on the island - Hanzo’s Noodle Stand located next to the museum, the farmer’s market north of Shaw Detective Agency, Curious Curios a antique store dealing in the esoteric and preternatural, Harker Paranormal Investigations, and the Lambda Labs on a cliff overlooking the western beach.

For our love is a ghost that the others can’t see
