Riverbrook neighborhood project

So I would like to make a neighborhood section on my island but I don’t know where to put it. Here is my map

Please feel free to use the dream address to visit so you can see where everything is. I would like to keep the shops in the same area if possible but I’m not opposed to adjusting the river a bit. I don’t want to terraform too much though. Should I put all ten houses together or break them up five and five? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated

My inclination would be to set up the neighborhood area in the top right corner. There's a lot of space and it would be easy to move the river a bit if you needed more space. But, if you also wanted to do the five and five, you could also easily move the river more centrally and then have two neighborhoods just across the river from one another.

The top right corner was my thought too but I have my fruit trees there so I would have to move them somewhere else

Top right corner does look like the ideal place but keep in mind your Redd's beach is up there so don't box it in! I built my neighborhood before Redd was announced and ended up making my beach inaccessible. Just something to think about! I think it might be nice directly behind your shopping area if visitors went across that bridge and the neighborhood area was there in the middle/right area!
