I'm returning to my town in AC: NL I'm not sure what I will find lots of weeds for sure though. :P Is there anything big I missed? Like any random updates to the game?

AC doesn't have updates. The only updates really is when they release a new game, but you probably lost one or two villagers along with flowers. Other than that, there's nothing you missed. But there's been an update for your 3DS, otherwise that's it

I guess main thing so would probably be Japanese DLC releases for the ogre masks and stuff. Kind of a new AC "update" not really since you could always just go on re-tail and get it from someone. Unless you count the whole 3ds system update, nothing really much else is missed. Also if you had set your town to beautiful ordinance, you might not have any weeds, or at least a few here or there. You can always just set your clock back and basically start as if you never left your town. That way no villagers lost and you'd be right where you were before you left c:

Ah- from what I know, no matter how many days you go back in time, it only counts as one day. That only works for going into the future, which will probably just cause a mess..and once a villager leaves, there's no way of bringing it back though time traveling

You just contradicted yourself... TT backwards will always count as one day, unless of course you are tting a few hours back and not past 6am, but that's a different matter. The TTing forward method you might be thinking of is making the villager ping, tell them to stay, and TT forward as far as you want without them leaving. That's for you to basically catch up to the present day after TT backwards for an extended period. This will not ruin anything either. As long as the villager pinged to move and you deny it, no villager would leave when you do a whole year or month or week or whatever amount of TTing forward.

Anyways, what I meant was that if you leave for like a month like I had done, whatever date you left on Tt to that day, and you should be able to start up the mayor and play as if you didn't leave. Villagers would not even notice or say things like it's been 43 days since I saw your face or whatever. if you're worried about a villager that might have be moving, create a new character and look around. If there's no plot, your safe and you can start your mayor or secondary characters. Then make sure to listen to villager rumors here to figure out who is moving and then do what I said in the first paragraph.

That's incorrect. Going into the future will always count as whatever amount of time it is (if you go forward 5 months, that's 5 months). Going back into the past does count as only day forward, which is why so many people do it when they want to catch up on things they've missed in their game or whatever.

There's no way to bring back a villager that has left, but it's possible to use time travelling to prevent villagers from having left your town. If you load directly in the present, they'll likely be gone, but if you load in the past first and deny a request to move, you can stop them from leaving.

If you're talking about the method of loading the game in the past first, denying a request to move, and then skipping to the present date, it doesn't cause more of a mess than directly loading your game now. It'll count as you having quit the game since the date you load on before you skip, which it would have counted anyway if you'd played ages ago and loaded up again now.
