Since I am getting this game today, I might as well discuss about the game itself on this forum. If you don't know what retro game challenge is, it is a game that basically shows how gaming was back in the day. It contains a variety of games that all look like an NES game. In the game, you are challenged to complete certain tasks in each game to progress through the game and unlock the next game. Once you complete all of the challenges in a game, you can play the game as much as you want. Oh, and don't think that's just it. Every game has a manual that you can read for basic information on the game and for every game you unlock, you get an issue of a fictional magazine called Gamefan Magazine that is very reminiscent to Nintendo Power.

However, the game got a sequel (which had games that were looked like NES, SNES, Gameboy and even Game & Watch games), but it was only released in Japan. This is because the game sold less that 100,000 copies in America.

I feel that this is a really dumb reason to not release something in America. First off, I never heard about this game until 2011 (and only from seeing a review on YouTube. The game was released in 2008. I think the reason why it didn't sell as many copies is because they didn't advertise it very well. I bet that that barely knew what this game is until now. Second, if at least 10,000s of people have bought the game, that should be a confirmation that it does have a fanbase.

Lastly, XSEED games seem a bit selfish and stuborn. They're only reason for not releasing it in America is because it didn't sell as many copies as "they" wanted to. Also, this is just the first game in the series, have some "perseverance", not everything is going to go right on your first try. Also, it doesn't seem that the game sold horribly, less than 100,000 copies is at least a decent amount of copies considering what kind of game it is. I did see on wikipedia that the sales of the game increased and they may think about localizing the sequel. However, the 3DS exists now, but that doesn't mean they still can't release it. The DS games aren't dead yet.

What do you guys think?
