My town has fallen into ruins. I am currently considering resetting and building my town better than ever.

what should I do??

if you have any tips, they would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe how to go about it as easily as possible or what to do in general...idk?

someone help please, I am freaking out a little

I just look for a good map, think of a theme before i choose and then pick what villagers i want. I make some random pattern and place it where i want my dreamies homes to go :) I always have one villager of each type so that way i can get all the pwp :)

I don't think there's much to say. If you hate your town the way it is and think that a change would be for the better, just go for it. If you like your town the way it is, maybe you could try to fix it up a bit. What do you mean about your town falling to ruins? If you have a good map and good villagers and it's just that stuff around town is a mess, you could clean it up and decorate it. There's no point in resetting if that's the case, in my opinion.

The only advice is to think it through. It's easier to decide to play your town for a while longer and then change your mind and reset it, than it is to get your town back if you reset. Also, if you go for it, you could find someone to hold your villagers and items that you really like.

Well if you're going to restart, maybe you should get someone to hold your valuable items (i.e: unorderable items, GracieGrace stuff, Bells, hybrids). That's what I did but it's up to you.
You can have a fresh start by picking a good map, or if you have a specific native fruit you want.
And if you have any Dreamies in your town, you can get someone to hold them temporarily.

I've been through the exact same situation. I hated my first town because it was all ugly and I never paid attention to what I did, but I didn't feel like resetting in the beginning because I'd have to do everything again, but I decided that I want to start over and get a much better town and get satisfaction.

Hiii~ I was in your position in the fall! I let my former town just go to waste and hated it so much I never wanted to work on it again u_u
If you're not happy with it, I would definitely suggest resetting. Like Kitsune suggested, if you can get someone to hold the items/bells you want to keep, definitely do so. I'm lucky and my sister also plays, so I either have her hold things for me or I use her 3ds to trade them between my two towns. But there are lots of super nice and reliable people on here who'd be willing to help, I'm sure! (if you're willing to trust anyone).

Before I remade my town, though, I made a list of everything I wanted. I picked town features I wouldn't stop resetting until I got (Like apples, retail/hall locations, river shape, etc.) and then a list of features I'd prefer, but could live without. I came up with a theme, too, and made a list of possible pwp's I'd want so I could start planning those. And then I made a list of dreamies to work on getting. I ended up getting almost all of the features I wanted in my new town within only a few resets, and now have all of my dreamies n_n My town is still a big WiP, but I'm much happier after resetting!

TL;DR - Reset if you're not happy and make sure you know what you want that'll make you happy with your town!

(Sorry, I'm wordy ;n; )
