Remember you could "Go Back In Time" via the Dream Suite?

Well, it only applied to those who changed their Wi-Fi Friend Code, causing the Dream Address to be changed around. Though, the original address of the town would still remain on the server, and can actually be accessed from a later version of your town, via that Dream Address.

Now that the Welcome Amiibo update has struck, all of the Dream Addresses were completely changed for the update. It made me miss going back to meet my 2013 self, when my mansion was still a house, when my town only had one bridge, the town's tree was still a small tree and I put a ton of do-not-enter signs at the trees to prevent neighbors from moving in. Good times...

Perhaps this should be a fully-fledged feature in the next Animal Crossing game?

Have Luna save a 'memory' of your town from certain years and/or seasons, and be able to access them via the Dream Suite.

That would be neat, to see how you've progressed over time.
Different villagers and so on.

I never heard of this until now. Even if I don’t go “back in time”, I at least save memories by taking screenshots of my town.

I've never heard of this either. But I used to do the same thing too. I'd go back to my very first town when the game first came out and visit my villagers and talk to them. It was interesting to see where I placed some of my PWPs back then. (in terrible places tbh.)

When my old town corrupted, the Dream Suite was the only way I was able to see it and all its villagers again. Luckily I took screenshots of the town, but I was still very upset about it going away after the WA update

I think that would be a really good feature for the next animal crossing game. you could see how much your town has changed over time and it would bring back lots of nostalgia and whatnot. I remember that

I have never changed my Friend Code and still Luna creates new addresses for my towns constantly... If you search Hangzhou by name there's like 5 different addresses, 4 are past ones with it on different stages of development and only one is the current one. While it's indeed cool, I still wish I could erase those, and I can't at all.

But yeah, as a controllable mechanism that would be great! Maybe create a time machine PWP or a shop on main street

Ah yes, I remember. But in order for me to go back in time via dream address, I had to type in my sister's name and not mine because of the game's weird algorithm for it to appear. When I 'traveled back in time', my town was a complete mess. Flowers were absolutely everywhere and trees were planted throughout the town in horrible spots. Luckily, I took screenshots back then so I could see the past memories.
