Preferably YA fiction, maybe teen
I like the fantasy genre mostly, but will read any others if I know it is quality.
I recently finished a book series called Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas too, which I loved, if that's anything to go by.
So can anyone give me a recommendation? :)

Hmm... I liked the Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix. Also the Inheritance Series by Christopher Poulini.

I read Mr. Penumbra's 24 hour book store a few years back. It was really interesting and an easy read too

If you like sci-fi fantasy, one of my favourites is More Than This by Patrick Ness. If you're into the kinda romance-fantasy, Carry On by Rainbow Rowell is great. (Always check the themes, yadda yadda, you get what i mean.)

Please read Only Ever Yours by Louise O'Neill! Probably my favourite book recently, the theme is pretty dark, and unsettlingly realistic, but it's a really amazing book. Not a soppy, happy kinda YA book, (although of it is of the YA genre!) but really enjoyable and truly thought provoking!

Brave Story by Miyuki Miyabe is probably one of my most favorite books. If you've heard of the game Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, then it's pretty similar to that (going to an alternate dimension with talking animals, monsters, dragons, etc. to save someone) except Brave Story has a darker theme to it.

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exup?ry is always a classic too!

I really liked Leigh Bardugo's Grisha trilogy and then her newer series that starts with the book Six of Crows. I also really liked the book Grave Mercy (can't recall authors name at the moment) and then the two following books, the Graceling trilogy is pretty good, The Kiss of Deception is pretty good too. These are all YA fantasy

I second Six of Crows. The sequel just came out a few days ago and it's really, really good too.

The Healing Wars trilogy and An Ember in the Ashes were really good books. Definitely check those out, if you haven't already. :P

i really liked The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, but it's young adult i think, and it has a lot of mature references, but i really enjoyed it.

The dark tower series by Stepehen King is very good. It's not his usual horror, its more of a science fiction/fantasy.
Have you read the hunger games? I find the books to be much better than the movies. There's another series called Gone. It's the first of 7 books and it's a young adult dystrophian type. The first couple of books are particularly good. The divergent trilogy is brilliant too. It's another young adult dystorphian similar to the hunger games, I really enjoyed them.
The maze runner you might have seen advertised as it's recently come out on film. It's an amazing trilogy about kids who find themselves involved in an experiment, won't say any more as not to spoil it.

Read the last 3 mentioned but will definitely check out the first.
Thanks all so far for suggestions :)

OMG that book is AMAZING! ^-^ <3 It really resonated with me because the author and I seem to have had similarly traumatizing childhoods. It is a fantastic read!
