Real name or not?

I'm curious as to if you use your real name for your Mayor, as i've seen loads of acnl players (and have met a few) that use different names other than their real name ^_^

-and if you don't use your real name for your mayor, what is your mayor's name? (curious)

I personally use my real name for my Mayor, Katy
Considering in my next town (when/if I reset) to use something different, though - not sure what this is going to be yet ^^'!

I don't use my real name. Not only someone has it, it's also kinda embarassing to me.

I used the name Ellie. I just picked that name randomly.

I never use my real name in games--I find it breaks the immersion because I'm blatantly not that guy, so I prefer to use the character's name. If the AC guy had a default name I would've gone with that, but as it was I just named him after a pepper because I was eating something with them in at the time. As it turned out, I ended up dressing my guy up like Wes from Pokemon Colosseum, so if I could go back and rename I'd probably choose that.

I assume some people see it as an opportunity to have a nickname, of sorts Like I have a good friend, MayorAvalon, she uses the name Avalon as a nickname and also because it sounds cool ^^! (which agreeably, it does :3)

I don't use my real name, in fact I even chose the complete opposite gender ;^^
I don't know I just find it much more traditional in an odd sense. >.<

I like Aurora. Was going to use Stelleria after Echinoderms, but too long lol.

I always use Jingle for all games. But my 2nd town mayor has my real name, Dean, but in that town whenever villagers let me pick a nickname I go for Jingle.

No, I don't use my real name. It is very common and a bit boring so I took the name Jia from the S. Korean k-pop group, Miss A ^^

Everywhere I go I use either Xan or Xanarcah. And because I have themed towns in Animal Crossing, I have matching themed names too~

Yes, I use my real name - sort of. Not the "full" name, but another form of it - a shortened version. That's how classmates call me usually. I am aganist using my real name anywhere, but AC was an exception. I wanted more immersion, so that's why.

Nah I would never use my real name. I always create new ones, because I'm portraying a new character on my game, same as I don't use my real name online. It's just kind of more creative and fun to have a different name or persona.

I use a shortened version of my real name for my mayor.
I'm actually also considering using a completely different name for my new town, but ... I don't know.
I always use Rae or Rachael in games. It seems like it would be strange to have characters call me something different. .__.
I like being myself in games!

(But then again it might be stranger to have two mayors named Rae ... >_>)

I hate my full name sooo much!
I use the name Ai for my second town, I didn't have a clue what to name my character.

No. My real name is Monica. I can't see myself naming anything after it .. I don't hate my name, but I don't like it that much either. I like tomboyish names - my mayor is Rory, then I have Riley. Both are girls. Sadie isn't a gender neutral name, but I have her as well .. then I have Justin, who wears dresses and wigs because why not?
