does anyone else do this thing where you put something up in the flea market and once someone enters the shop you push them in front of your item and force them to look at it so they'd buy it? currently struggling and REALLY frustrated as marshal asked to buy every single item except mine... lol

The only way they'll buy things is if they have gotten your advice first, so if you have something up in Re-Tail I think that's only a logical thing to do. I also push mine in front of items I want to get out of Re-Tail though, because I don't want them.
I never really put anything up for sale at Re-Tail though, so it doesn't happen too often for me.

I did that, up until I realized they put that stuff in their house. I ruined so many homes because of that lol.

Oh, yeah, I've done the shoving thing many times! I usually just sell directly to Reese, but it's fun to "make" a villager buy something. LOL

I do this with ores and superb coffee beans!

I put them up in the flea market space because I can sell them for 7500 bells there, rather than the 2000 bells Reese offers.

I've done that a few times :3 but most of the time I just wait for them to find something they want

That's exactly what I did, I finally stopped when I went to a house and realized it was filled with junk. Now I only do it when I think its something that will go well in their house.

I do it too just to clear Re-Tail of space. Gets so annoying shoving animals into the corner to try and force them to see it (which can sometimes take a couple minutes) whilst having some invasive alpaca standing there, staring, getting in the way.

I just bought everything from retail then put a load of gems up there myself for 999,999bells... all I get now is shocked villagers complaining about how expensive everything is :/ No more ruined houses though! :D

That is actually a really good idea! Should totally try it, but perhaps with something really goofy from mini Nooks' place because why not.

I just do it with the gems I sell lol

Your pale and small text is starting to bug me, lol. Keep using it though. :P

I do this ALL the time xD It's a fast and easy way to change villagers houses the way you like :)

AHAHA! Yes I do that always, I think it's alright since I try to choose ones that kind of or might go well for most villager house interiors and stuff ahaha. I also buy their furniture and sell it if I don't like or/and don't want it to be in anyone's house, sometimes seeing the same cycling item too often I get cranky and neew some fresh ones to go around... O;

I find it annoying trying to push them in the way of the furniture I want to buy, so just let them walk naturally and tell them not to buy if it would look horrible in their houses.

I tried selling my golden furniture for double Reese's suggested price, but I had a hard time trying to sell them because all the villagers were saying things like "It's fair, but still too expensive."

I'm always pushing villagers toward specific Re-Tail items that I want them to display in their homes. If the wrong villager shows interest, I just ignore them until they lose interest in the item they're looking at or just leave the building. It's a nice way to make their homes look nice and to earn a few bells.

To be honest, I put flowers in every space of my retail and price them at 99999 just so that villagers don't buy or sell anything.

I'll put my ores for sale at 9,999 bells each and push villagers around until they buy one. It's basically an 8,000 bell profit just for doing a little pushing.

ooh that's a good idea. They don't put ores in their house, right?
