I think Raymond has a cool design!! His eyes are really unique and his aesthetic is really nice in my opinion! I think his smug personality is also a nice trait and would fit well on my island since I don’t have a smug villager yet-

Raymond reminds me of my childhood Kitty, named Luna, that had heterochromia. She was my first pet at 5 years old and passed away a few years ago after a long 16 years of life! I miss her dearly :')
Raymond would fit in perfectly on my island with Kiki! She'd love a kitty friend to hang with.

I like making headcanons for my town and by looking at Raymond's design I think he would likely be a guild leader whose very tired but puts up a charismatic front...There's good, evil and neutral in my town and I think he'd fall under neutral upon arrival. I make stories as my villagers interact with me and the others, so who knows where he would go alignment wise hehe... But yeah, he's my dreamie because I love his design and I think it's be fun to make stories about him! These giveaways are a real blessing because it makes Raymond more accessible <3 Also my best friend really wants Raymond, so I might sneak him over to her place if I get him (after letting him stay at my place for a bit, that is.)

Did you know Cyd and Static have the same jacket?! If I liked the elephant villagers I would look for him to be friends with Static LMAO.

Hello! This is super nice of you!

So Raymond isn't actually my dreamie, he's my mom's! She recently got into animal crossing because of some health complications that caused her to be unable to work / stay active, so when we were looking through photos of villagers and when she saw Raymond and got super excited and told me she wanted him, so I am on the hunt for him for her!

Tbh, at first I didn't really get the Raymond hype. I thought it was going to stay that way, that was until I happened to bump into him while visiting another player's island. Needless to say, that chance encounter was enough to make me really want him on my own island. I'm staying hopeful that one day I'll be able to invite him home! He's as close to a pet cat that I can have, as I am 99% sure that I am allergic to cats (I get itchy and hives around cats). Of note, I'm taking this hunt one day at a time and enjoying the novelty of the game in the meantime ^_^

Also of Francine, Cyd, Tasha, Chrissy I really like Cyd. His design is pretty cool and I have yet to see him in-game. I can't wait to encounter him on an island someday!

He reminds me of my kid with the heterochromia. I had to ask the nurses when my middle kid was born if I was seeing things because of the drugs or if it was really my kid's eyes, they were that defined as different that we could tell at birth! And his coloring matches my current 'tim' kitty. So it'd kinda be like smashing the two of them together into the game and that's Raymond. It really is! And I've been hoping to get him in my daily runs out to the islands.

I don't know any of the other villagers required to be mentioned. I'll look them up. Cyd makes me think of the Final Fantasy series. I hard core played 4 as a kid. Ya, aged myself there. So if Cyd is some orange critter that loves to tinker, I'd love him. :-D

Raymond stuck out like a sore thumb when they introduced him. I saw him and thought, ”yes, I want this little guy on my island!” I fell head over heels for the hype. Doesn’t help that I’m a big cat lover!

I‘ve never had Francine or Chrissy in my town/island before, but I think they’re cute!

Well Fran(c)kly(ine) i tried it didnt work i get it, I just like how unique he looks despite his fur being...a pretty simple design. Ok I'm gonna go on a huge tangent here but bear with me.

Most of the popular villagers have a sort of..gimmick. Marshal is marshmallow looking, merengue is also a food..actually, a bunch of them are just a dish. Audie isn't but she stands out cause she's got amazing colors and dope sunglasses! She's sunny and happy. Villagers like Coco, Zucker, Lucky etc all seem have a certain thing that makes them unique. I won't call it a Gimmick, cause it feels like i'd be underappreciating what makes these villagers cool.
In comparison, other popular villagers like Fauna, Beau, Fang, Chief, Kiki (ok she's a reference to ghibli but), Lolly, etc are...to be honest, just their species. Ok chief is a fox instead of a wolf, but you get what I mean. They look natural. They look like they fit. And I love them, please don't look at this as a critique, because I'm just as much a sucker for these villagers as anyone else. It's just nintendo doing what it does best. They create what should be a "plain" character and make them super charming!
But Raymond falls smack dab in the middle of those. His colors are plain, there's nothing really crazy about him except his eyes. He's grey and black with a swoop of white hair. His colors are muted, his design isn't crazy or anything, yet he still manages to set himself apart from other villagers. I don't know if it's the eyes or the default clothes he comes with, but I'm trying to figure it out. I never thought he'd be this popular, I thought he'd be another Leopold (you know, slightly different colors than the base animal, glasses), but there's something that makes everyone go insane for the guy.

I'm probably looking way, way too much into it. I wanna study Raymond like a field biologist, is what it comes down to. Most of this post was so that I could muse about how weird his design is compared to other AC villagers
Also, smug villagers are nice.
