I have been trying for well over a month to get a blue rose to appear.
I followed the steps of making a hybrid red rose through an orange and purple rose

and planted the hybrid reds roses together, buried fertilizer next to it every day, and watered it every day

But I have yet to see any blue roses. What, exactly, is the probability of getting a blue rose?
I want to make a blue rose myself rather than get it from someone else, but I admit I am getting a bit frustrated.

Once you have actual blue roses, it becomes easier to breed.
More fertilizer maybe?

Try putting more hybrid reds down. The more you water the higher chance you'll get a blue so try doing 8 instead of 4. I heard jacobs ladders are meant to help increase the chances but no idea if that's true or not.
I'm trying to get purple pansies through hybrid reds and its been several months and I got nothing. :/
I'm trying a different method now using hybrid oranges. Hopefully that will work. >.<

Blue roses are so easy to breed once you have at least 3 or 4. Blue rose x blue rose is probs the best combination out there.

If are getting rlly impatient, I can give you a few blue roses for free to get you started :)

Something to note is that blue roses (and most rare hybrids), spawn best when using the Beautiful ordinance. That's because flowers that are watered are the most likely to reproduce, and under the beautiful ordinance, you can get away with ONLY watering your hybrid reds, without risking any other flowers.

Blues are easiest to breed from other blues, but it's always good to try breeding them from scratch for yourself - it builds character! XD

Find the spot that hybrids grow on their own or grow a lot.

At the end of the beach where you placed the one orange/ purple rose I didn't have luck there.
Do you have more orange/ purple roses? Add some more in a row or checkboard pattern. The four red roses that you have might just be regular red rose and not the special hybrid red rose. No way to tell if they are the real ones. Just because you found them in a empty spot doesn't mean they are hybrids. The game could have planted a red rose there. Or a villager could have planted a flower in one of the spots.
Yes villagers do go and plant. I had three down there planting and took 2 pockets full away. The next day I found my first blue rose.

Hi! Could you maybe help me out as well? They are really hard to get... I could pay or give perfect fruits? Or maybe give Blue Pansies in exchange - I have those.

Well, thanks for your attention either way! :)

I gave up and bought a few blue roses from a gardening shop here...now I have like thirty of them. I had zero luck trying to breed my own.

Okay, well thanks for the tips everyone!
I think I'll try to just plant more hybrid red roses and give it at least a couple more months of effort. I'm a stubborn person, and wouldn't feel accomplished if I just bought the roses from someone else rather than make my own :3

You could try 9 hybrid reds going downwards plus fertilizer. Not sure how effective this is but it is worth a try, right ?

So would it be wise to use more than one fertilizer? I gave up on this months ago, because I couldn't understand why it wasn't working..but I guess it's just that hard to breed.
