I still use it to access the rocks way at the bottom of my island, I can decorate those grey areas.

I still do but only for Redd! I stupidly boxed in the secret beach with my housing area so I couldn't put stairs in! Otherwise, I use stairs/ramps only. Ladders are only useful now on other people's islands for me!

I try not to unless I don't feel like going around just to climb a set of stairs.

I don't need to ever use the ladder or pole (I designed my island with this in mind) and yet I still carry them around. I guess I was just so impressed with pole vaulting and climbing cliffs that I can never manage to put the tools away.

For the most part I don't because I can get most anywhere I need to with the inclines. It's only if a fossil decides to plant itself on a 1-unit-wide cliffside. (I should really just use transparent paths for those lol)

But I've never removed the ladder or the vaulting pole from my inventory because I like to be prepared for anything, that way I don't have to think about it. Like if I do demolish/rebuild an incline for example, I don't have to remember to go to my storage and pull the ladder back out, it's just always there

i do if there’s weeds/a fossil on the side of a cliff or when redd shows up but that’s about it aha ;;

Can you please explain what a transparent path is? Does it require a slot? I actually laid out a bunch of weeds in certain spots that I can't fill with flowers just yet, just so I can avoid having fossils spawn there, but I'd rather use a transparent path if that looks better.

I still carry mine in case I’m visiting another island with fewer inclines, or if they’ve invited me to visit Redd and the beach isn’t accessible. But otherwise, not really; I would prefer to run to my nearest incline than pull out the ladder (unless I’m chasing a bug or Wisp spirit, in which can ladder all the way for speed).

It does require a pattern slot. By transparent path I mean a pattern that you just take the transparent "color" and fill the canvas with it. It creates a completely invisible pattern you can use on, for example, grass so stuff doesn't grow there.

i'm still terraforming my island, so there's a whole chunk that doesn't have inclines up to it. so yeah, i still use my ladder a lot.

Thanks for that. I'm going to try and clear up a slot so I can do this.

I have one or two areas of my island that I designed to be inaccessible...but I also have no reason to go up there. Those are just little waterfall cliffs with flowers covering all of the space. So, there are never any fossils or weeds, or any reason that I need to reach them. That said, the only time I use the ladder is when I go to Nook mystery islands.

Only to access Redd. But it's just laying there behind a bush so I have quick access to it and not have to carry it around or go to my storage first :P It's only frustrating when visiting other people and you can't reach the crafting villager :')
