Hello!

I have Roald randomly visiting my campsite today which I am thrilled about, however, I only want to kick one specific villager out as I am too attached to my current ones and don’t care about Roald enough to kick one at random. I heard through a YouTube video (possibly not the most reliable source) that if you complain to Resident Services about a villager, then it will prompt the camper to choose that one to replace. Is this true? I want Roald to move in so bad but I don’t want to take any risks :(

Edit: resolved! Thank you so much everyone. Roald is moving in even though I am losing a friend in Patty :(

Boy if that were true, that would be great. Unfortunately, as far as I know, that camper is going to choose a villager at random. The only safeguard you have is the ability to say no, but I don't think you'll have a second option to try to boot a different one out once you do

So once Roald chooses a random villager to kick and it's not the one you want out, you can end the game and start it up again and repeat the process until he chooses the villager you want out.

I can verify that reporting said villager to RS will not trigger a swap. I tried that method and spent the whole day winning different card games to sway the option and to no avail the game still wanted to kick out said villager. It's truly a bummer.

Ugh, it really is so unfortunate. Would make things so much easier. But I guess nintendo has to sell those Amiibos somehow :cautious: Funny enough on my second try Roald wanted to kick the exact villager I was thinking of (Patty), which was a complete shock!!

You were able to reset? If so, congrats!

I know it would make it easier-the game chose Reneigh for me- I wanted Bubbles out so bad! I have a history with Bubbles... In my all deer town in NL, I took a break from the game and Renee booted out Fuschia. I was so upset.

Thanks!!! I don't have any personal beef (haha) with Patty but I just had too many peppy villagers. I completely get it though, that would make me sooo mad too lol

Roald will choose a villager at random to replace. However, you CAN close your game via the Nintendo Switch home screen and talk to Roald again. This causes the randomly chosen villager to be reset. You MUST do this BEFORE you exit the dialogue and the game autosaves. Once you exit the dialogue and the game autosaves, even if you refused, it is set who will be replaced and will not change.
