Quick fishing tourney question

I'm in EST and my friend is in England, 5 hours ahead of me.

If she comes to my town at 1pm my time (6pm her time) can she continue racking up points for the tourney and then exchange the points for more prizes? Or do you stop getting prizes once the tourney is over in YOUR town?

She wants to come over later to fish and idk if I should tell her to fish on her own since I dont want her missing out on the item set.

Hmm... I think this is a good question.

I don't know for sure and this is my speculation but I think that she wouldn't be able to participate in the event unless shes on her own island. Her points are all saved on her own game and I'd highly doubt that it would transfer over if she could do the tournament on your island. I think if she tried to talk to CJ, he'd just say that there is an event going on and she wont be able to participate.

You could always test it out by bringing her in to test it.

The event runs on the island you visit, regardless of your home island. So friends can participate until 6PM on your island.

Issue is is that I cant invite her until 1 my time since I have work so I dont want her to wait around to fish on my island just to miss out on the items.

I know you can participate on other islands since they waive the fee. But I just dont know if you can redeem prizes.
