So I'm trying to get about eight of my villagers to move out but I already made the mistake of becoming somewhat to good friends with them so it will take at least 2-3 weeks for them to move out if I ignore them. I'm very impatient so I'm contemplating the idea of time travel, but am scared of losing my only dreamie, Zell.
How can I time travel and not lose him?
Also, very importantly, can I travel back in time to the current date after I get rid of the villagers I don't want in one date change, or do I have to go day by day? What happens when you go back in time?

Thanks ahead of time for any answers.

I'm not sure how you could keep Zell, Maybe just time travel 2 or 3 days at a time and make sure you talk to him. I do know that if you time travel and get rid of villagers that they will stay gone.

Cycling seems like an okay choice. But if you're really afraid of losing Zell; you should probably just wait until one of the villagers that you want to move out do the Surprised action and walk up to you to tell you they want to move.

As for time traveling.. I only travel about 2-3 days. But if you lose a villager that moved, you can't travel to the past and get them back; sorry. unu

Villagers that I want to move have come up to me with the surprise action and when I talk to them it's not them wanting to move :c
If they come up to me and I press A to talk to them, that counts as me making friends with them I think, which defeats the purpose of ignoring them.
Should I wait about a week before answering to any of their surprise actions?

Don't worry about making friends with them. It seems to be random -- in fact, I had a few villagers that wouldn't move until I started being extra nice to them. And if you're not good enough friends, they will sometimes stay even if they tell you they want to move because they "realize they need to get to know you better"

To be careful about Zell -- go day by day, talk to everyone and when he asks say no; when anyone else asks, say yes and then jump to their moving date.

yes, when you are all done, you can jump back to the correct date -- any jump backwards counts as one day (so make sure no one is moving when you jump - unless it's the last one you're getting rid of).

Don't forget that everytime you lose a villager, you may get a new one, so if you're concerned about house placement or want to pick your new residents keep that in mind.

good luck and I hope you have no trouble with zell!

I learned that there are "levels" of friendship with your villagers. Once you become pretty good friends with a certain villager there is a point in time they ask to move just for no apparent reason. But the best way to get someone to move is to introduce yourself and never talk to them again.

So if I were to jump to a day a villager was in boxes, I could trade or sell that villager to someone (or just void them) and then jump back to my present day, no harm?
Also, what you were saying about saying yes to someone moving, then jumping to their moving date, would I have to go day by day to their moving date to ensure no loss of another villager?

Sorry for all the questions >n>

There's an awesome guide here that I've used several times. Only ever lost one villager I wanted to keep, but that was my own fault for not following the guide exactly =.=
