Ok, so from the research I've done I'm pretty sure that if I have multiple game cartridges, I can play them on the same 3ds and switch between them whenever I'd like. Also the same if I have a digital copy and a physical copy. Is this correct?
As of now I have one digital copy and one physical copy, but I play them on two separate 3ds systems. I am looking to by a third copy of the game now that the price has been lowered to $20. I would like to have two regular towns, and one cycling town.
Mainly I plan on playing this new copy on the same 3ds that my digital town is on. I should be able to switch back and forth between my digital town and my physical copy with no save corruption, right? If I decide I want to play my physical town on the second 3ds, can I just pop the cartridge into the second 3ds with no issuses?
To make it more simple, here is my ideal setup:
N3DS- Main digital town, main physical town
3DS- Cycling physical town
But I would like the option of switching my main physical town back and forth between the N3DS and the 3DS, if I needed to trade items between two main towns for example.
Also, would all of these towns work for online play? The towns on the same 3ds would share a friend code, correct? And if I swapped the cartridge into the other 3ds, the friend code would change? If I just have my friends register both of my ds friend codes, would they be able to visit any of my towns?
