Questions about Maple Story and WOW

Is WOW worth the money, and is there any other similar games where you fight trolls with hordes?

And also, is Maple Story still fun, or is it a ghost town? Thanks!

Pretty sure Maple is still going strong, and for the fun part, I can't answer that.

No-one can answer whether WoW is worth the money, because it's down to whether or not you personally enjoy it. I enjoy WoW - my account isn't active at the moment because of uni, but I would say that it is worth the money, but someone else who hates it may come along and say that it isn't. All personal preference. But if you're interested in it, then you can always make a 10 day trial, and then you will know yourself whether or not it's worth the money.
As for if there's any other games like it, yes - there are many online MMOs. Some that have taken huge inspiration from WoW, such as Runes of Magic, which is free to play. There are too many to list here, but Google is your friend. Many would argue that WoW is the most polished or best as it has been around for the longest and has had a vast amount of money put into it, but this is for the individual to decide.

As for Maplestory, I can't answer that - I've never played!
