There's nothing to really worry about. Either it will happen or it won't, and there's not really much you can do to prevent it. Like Bluelady said, that's just the way of electronics, eventually everything wears out. The best thing you can do is put it out of your mind as best you can and play anyway. If it happens it happens. If it never happens so long as you're interested in playing the game, then that's great. Whatever happens, it's just down to chance. Just immerse yourself in the game and enjoy it, come what may.
I do have a physical copy, and i heard if i reset without saving it can corrupt too. But i guess ur right
I can't speak authoritatively on this matter because it very well could be true and I just have never heard anything about it, but no, there shouldn't be any issue with resetting without saving. People, myself included, do it all the time to do plot resetting for new villager houses.
To go on a tangent about something I just mentioned, plot resetting is when you know a villager will be moving into your town on a specific day and you create a new character to see where they decide to place their house. If you don't like the placement, you press the Home button on your 2DS/3DS, select close game, and then start the game up again, thus "resetting" it. You keep doing that until you are satisfied with where the villager decided on placing their house, then you go through the process of talking to Isabelle, then Tom Nook to place the new player character's house, then Isabelle again to save. People do plot resetting to prevent villagers from placing their houses in terrible spots like in front of their front door, in a patch of flower hybrids, or whatever other reason. You can find out more about it through browsing the forums or elsewhere on the Internet like reddit or YouTube.
Now, obviously, you wouldn't generally want to reset without saving if you made a lot of progress by catching a rare bug or fish for the first time, or after doing errands for your residents or stuff like that. So just be sure to save often. Also, if you think about it, this "reset without saving potentially causing corruption" theory doesn't really hold up when hey, sometimes you just run out of charge on your battery and the game shuts off or something. If such a thing occurs during normal gameplay, that should be fine other than losing whatever progress you made for the day (again, like rare bugs or fish or completed errands). The game shutting off due to battery depletion is one of the things you can tell Resetti when he confronts you to ask why you shut off the game without saving.
One thing to note, in New Leaf, you will only ever see Mr. Resetti one time upon the first instance of quitting without saving. That is, until and unless you set up the Rest Center Public Works Project, in which case you can talk to him and his brother Don sometimes, and Mr. Resetti would then show up everytime you reset without saving from that point forward.
Just, one thing you should never do is shut off the 2DS/3DS while the game is in the process of saving.
Then you might be in the danger zone where corruption is possible. Always let the game finish saving before turning off the 2DS/3DS.
I hope that was helpful, and that you can enjoy your game more going forward.
