Question Regarding Paths

I really would like to start putting in paths. My concern is that I haven't filled my museum with the fossils. If you have paths, does it hide the fossil crack in the ground?

I know this is a pretty basic question, but I appreciate your help.

Nope, the fossil will be generated somewhere else that isn't pathed. At least from my experience.
