Question On Town Reset

My friend reset his town when Olivia left (she was his favourite) but he started getting back into ACNL and it makes me really happy because he was the reason i got into ACNL (Didn't know there was another Animal Crossing game after Wild World until he told me and he just helped me with getting things as well as generally falling in love with the game) but he kinda hates his town native fruit which are Oranges. He has a real life distaste for them but said its not worth resetting again because he likes his map. I just feel when you hate something it puts you off? So my question is, is there a way to reset your town but keep your map? He seems to think that when you reset you get a different set of maps each time (he feels like he will lose this map forever if he resets basically) but i thought they were the same maps (i read somewhere that each specific cartridge has its own unique maps that no one else will have). Maybe if i can convince him of this (because he really likes his map) he might enjoy Animal Crossing again.

I mean, as long as perfect fruit isn't a big deal to him he can have whatever fruit he wants in his town, really. I have pears as my native fruit but only apples growing around town.

Yee, what molas said. I mean, honestly I've reset a perfectly fine map over the town fruit before, lol. I love oranges in real life, but they are my least favorite town fruit to have. What I would do, besides just plant different fruit, is make a list of the map features I like and then reset and try to get as many of them as possible while also getting better fruit. It can be tedious, but I've reset so often it doesn't really bother me to anymore, haha.

Very true i personally forgot about this... he seems to have perfect orange trees so i guess he's not that bothered i just wanted a curious question answered lol
Ooooh his first town's native fruit was Pears mine however is apple and i love them.
If i ever get a second town which i'm thinking about i want cherries but i know that's easier said than done and we don't always get what we want

That's helpful honestly same. I don't mind Apples or Pears or Cherries or even Peaches but Oranges as native fruit? I couldn't but i do love a good juicy orange inrl lol
