Question on moving second character to be mayor on new town

Hi nice people~,

I have a question.
I have a second character in my main town that I wished to move to my 2nd copy of DS
If I use the 'move-in' to that soon to be new -mayorless town- , can I still do the "reset until you get your dreamie/lovely map/favourite fruits" options?
Or will that kind of move be sort of 1 time move? Like if I reset, my 2nd game/non-mayor character will get corrupted or stuff like that?

Any one tries this before?

My son did move his character to his own copy he got for Christmas and became mayor. But he's too young to really manipulate the game much, so we went with the layouts that were offered.

But while I was researching the process, I came across this answer on a message board:

"If you move to another town on another 3DS and you don't like any of the 4 town options given to you on the train, your well-developed character will not be deleted if you restart. If you restart during the train ride, upon starting the game instead of saying "Continue" or "New Save File," it will re-direct you to the train to restart the move-in process.

This made me very anxious to move because I didn't want my character to be deleted because of my picky AniCross habits.
Please let others know! Thank you."

Just to drop by the thread and say that I moved my non-mayor to a new town(after reset)to become mayor using my friend's DS.
All goes well except one part that you might want to know~

You will never be able to use the cartridge with the moving-towner until you settled with the moving.
The cartridge will not be able to be read on a different DS other then the one you select to transfer the towner at the first stage.
But on that DS, you can exactly reset how many times you want until you got the town you want, take it out, put it in, just it will not be a working cartridge on any other DS until you have chose to move that towner in and became mayor on that new town.

I was quite scared at first cuz this char was quite established and bringing a lot of items, glad all went well indeed <3
