Ok, so with the Villagers I want to move out, there are some complications: Both of them were some of the first villagers in my town when I began. Because of this, I was friendly with them for months and months. Both have offered to move out, (I say ok) and then suddenly they say something like "you're just gonna let me go? I'm not going until we're real friends!!". Honestly, why would they even offer if they were gonna do that?! I don't know
what I should try to get them gone.

Every other villager that's left my town were ones I spoke with. In fact, I ignored a single villager for weeks, but she wouldn't leave until I went over to her house and talked a little with her! As of Welcome Amiibo I don't think ignoring works anymore. So, I'm not gonna try the ignoring technique, unless that might help me hurt the friendship a little?

I was thinking, I need not to ignore them fully, but to fail all their quests, and only talk to them once a week. Would this be affective in driving them away? At this point, I'm just desperate to see them go. I will TT, but I have dreamies in town, so I don't want them moving on me.

If you have any ideas to move out my original Villagers, COMMENT. PLEEEEASE.

CAME ACROSS A WORKING METHOD!!!!
Just behave friendly to the villager you want gone. Be sure to talk with them regularly! If you treat them like a friend, they'll feel there's nothing left to accomplish (that's how I feel) and offer to move out.
If you want to do this quickly, time travel a day ahead one at a time. When you get in, find a villager inside their home(recommended) or outside. Talk to them around 6 times. If they haven't said anything about someone moving yet, time travel another day ahead. Eventually, someone will want to move. It's up to you if you tell them to stay or not. Now, you may come across a problem: the villager you tried to see who was moving from was the villager who wanted to move. For this reason, talk to a different villager each day. Now, if you've talked to a villager so much that they won't ping you, and they're the one moving, time travel another day back or ahead. That day the annoyance will be reset, and you'll be pinged. Theoretically, being friendly only to the villager you want gone could be effective. Now, a more dire issue you may come across, is that "I've time travelled forward a far way, now what?" Well, I suggest time travelling back day by day to be safe. However, if you time travel between the same week back and forth it still counts that time has passed, and it's the same as going forward. This is what I used. I've gotten 1 unwanted villager gone, and I plan to purge the next soon!

honestly, I think the best way to move out unwanted villagers is to become their BEST friend. Do everything they ask and talk to them all the time.
I attempted to completely ignore katt even before the update and it didn't work at all, I just moved her out with an amiibo.
being friends with them imo, is the fastest way to get rid of them bc the ones asking to move the most in my town are the ones I'm closest to. That's just my opinion and personal experience though. ?\_(ツ)_/?

ps. I love your avatar

If you do manage to get them to ping again, you should time travel to their proposed move out date to ensure that they leave. You might not find time traveling ideal but it's the only way they will move out for sure.

Thanks both of you! I'm probably going to try and become 'a true friend' to em both. Hopefully they'll go, and make space for villagers I like better. I also think I'm gonna use some amiibos to put pressure on them to leave, by having too many cranky/lazy villagers.

When I get a response like that I just turn my game off and try again. Usually the response changes to the one I want.

you can force a move out with amiibo if you have a full town!
if you have 10 villagers in your town and you try to move in an amiibo, wisp will ask you who you want to replace with the card you're scanning in.
TT'ing to a villagers move date once they ping is completely safe because once they ping to move out, no one else can move out unless you decline their offer to move out or they move out themselves.

Like others said, either use an amiibo or become their best friend. If they actually stick to moving away, then ignore them completely until the day they're in boxes. Or time travel if you're super eager to see them off. :P

You can either you an amiibo card for a 100% guarantee for a move-out, or time traveling could work, or even acting rude to them. If you're if they ask they want to move away say yes. I have long-term villagers that still ask to move out in perfect town.

If a villager ever asks to move and then changes their mind, just quit without saving. They will still move out on the same date they mentioned before. You don't have to answer any of their pings until that date :)

agree. done this method successfully for a lot of original villagers and a lot of move ins. it's the easiest, you just gotta make sure not to accidentally answer a ping from them while you are moving ahead to that date they move out (if you're slow going it and not instantly tting)

For me I would Time Travel, to get that villager to move, but that risks for weeds, other villagers moving out instead, and maybe rumors about you in your town. But if you move at 2 days at a time it should be fine. If you don't want to risk that, you could become their best friend by talking to them every day, doing errands for them, etc. But that takes longer because other villagers might want to move out instead.
