Do you get anything from gaining 1 billion bells?
I made 1 billion bells in New Leaf and I got a safe, an ATM and pete's work clothes LOL. I was wondering if you get anything in New Horizons because I might stop at 150 mil if anything.

Only duplicators have 1b.

To have 1B right now legitimately, you'd have had to earn 47,619,047 bells per day since March 20.

Question is available to whoever has 1bill, I don't really care how they got the money since I just want to know if they got any items from getting 1bill. but yes, i know that duplicators will be the only people right now who will have 1bill

EDIT: is it against the rules for duplicators and participate in threads on TBT ? just curious because then i'll lock this thread and just make 1bill (by the stalk market)

i don't have 1bil, but i think the fact some people have 10, 50, 100, 500.. mil and haven't got anything for it is a sign to me that there won't be anything for 1b either. that paired with the fact there are multiple sources that have datamined the game and posted (almost??) every item and how to get them, with no indication that any like money-earning rewards exist as far as I can tell

kind of a bummer, I think a personal abd was kinda rad

oh and also it kinda is possible to get 1b legitimately if you really put your back into it. you could invest your money into the stalk market and find 500 bell turnip islands and if you have villagers like raymond you can sell them for literal mad bucks. unlikely but possible.

oh for real? that's a bummer....
i was hoping for an ATM to put outside my house .. guess i'll stop at 150mill for new horizons

You're thinking 100million bells for the ABD in New Leaf. 1 billion is an insane number which almost no one would have unless they hacked or abused turnips for hoooours back and forth.

I'm sorry for causing the misunderstanding. I didn't mean it like cheaters can't post here, but more of the fact that you probably won't find anyone as a regular on here who has 1B to answer this question.

oh my bad! i don't remember at what amount of bells i got each item
but yeaaah, i had two 3ds at the time and went back and forth for about a week? i have two switches so i'm just going back and forth rn :^P i can definitely say it's a grueling process

ah i see! yeah, that's true.. i didn't think about that!

I haven't even saved up 1 mil yet. I've still only spent almost 2 mil and just expanded my house with a second floor. I'm so bad at earning/saving in this game! I don't have the patience for the grind and should probably work on doing more with the stalk market. It would be cool if you still get rewards for how many bells you deposit in the ABD. I'm sure people know that already for numbers in the millions but not sure about billions and all that stuff you listed that was in ACNL.

Care to explain?

I'm not a math expert, but I recommend you try this: 1,000,000,000 / 21

Game has been out for about 21 days now.
To be fair, it's quite easy to get 1 billion bells if you have the time and resources for it.

For example, I time travel back to Sunday and have Daisy Mae sell me turnips for 90 bells a piece. I fill up my inventory.

I go to a friend's town who has turnips selling for, say, 600 bells a pop. 4,000 turnips times 600 bells each is 2,400,000 bells per inventory full of turnips.

If I do this approx 416 times I can essentially make 1 billion bells in a day. Yes, it'll be VERY time consuming. Yes, it involves time traveling, but it's built into the game (and Nintendo already said TTers aren't considered cheaters) and therefore it's a legitimate way to earn bells. Bonus points if you do this multiple days in a row.

Okay. But if you have to time travel, that's not legitimate, as I originally stated

You said only duplicators have 1B bells. Time travelers don't count as duplicators.

I apologise for that. I wasn't being inclusive enough, but if you read my post you'll see I verbatimly said "legitimately".

I don't want to debate TT, and I don't mind if people do it. It is just my opinion that if you have to lie about what time it is on the Switch in order to exploit the Turnip system and prices, that in my opinion is not legitimate.

I'll leave it at that.

Stalk market. Tarauntula islands (even better if selling to flick). Cycling villagers and selling them. Selling TBT for IGB (before TBT went down for the ravamp). Selling crafting services. Selling hybrids. etc etc.

I came across this post while searching for talk about obtaining a billion bells without time travel! I'm currently on a quest to do just that, and I'm the majority of it through the stalk market.

My rules are:
  1. I only buy turnips on my own island on Sundays during proper hours (5AM-12PM)
    • The reasoning for the location is simply volume. Sure, you can save some money if you buy for 90/turnip on someone else's island. This does indeed maximize the return, but time becomes the bigger bottleneck. I found that visiting someone's island to buy or sell takes roughly 7-8 minutes, which translates to about 7.5 trips an hour. Buying on my own island, I was able to trap Daisy Mae next to the plaza (using some water and hedges) and found that I could buy turnips at a much faster rate @ 3min/trip or 15-20 trips/hr. In 3 hours this week I had 60 trips' worth of turnips.
    • I think it's actually possible to game it and drag out Daisy Mae's stay beyond 12pm if you simply keep money outside, on your island. When you buy turnips, you can put them down on the island, then pick up the next set of funds to purchase another trip's worth of turnips from the poor little boar who wants to go home. I'm not doing this because it's torture for both me and her. I'm already spending 3 hours a week buying turnips.
    • Buying on my own island on Sundays means I'm not exploiting time travel.
  2. Only sell turnips on friends' islands (non-time travelers) Tuesday-Friday.
    • Early on I used turnip.exchange but found the experience to be cumbersome. In the time it takes you to get one good trip, it may have been 15 minutes because you had to sit through 3-4 other people loading into / out of the highly priced island. While this may be good for a quick buck, I'm in it for the long haul. Time is money, as they say. A 600/turnip price isn't worth it if you can only get 3-4 trips done in an hour.
Furthermore, some turnip.exchange islands ask for a little too much for entry fees, while others that do not become very sought after and hard to access.
    • Many friends of my friends know that I'm on this quest and have been generous enough to give me exclusive access to their island (after opening to others to sell). Some have even gone as far as to tip me off about some of their friends with good prices. With exclusive access to an island, the trip time becomes about 7 minutes 15 seconds. About 8.5 trips an hour. This week, I managed to sell 43 trips' worth of turnips on my friend's island from the hours of 5pm-10pm.
    • If the friend is a known time traveler, I avoid sell on their island.
    • Tuesday-Friday are the better days to sell. Monday and Saturday seem to always be the wind up / wind down of prices.
I also have a price threshold:
  • Monday - Hold
  • Tuesday - sell if > 600
  • Wednesday - sell if > 500
  • Thursday - sell if > 400
  • Friday - sell if > 100
  • Saturday - SELL SELL SELL!
I've found that ~3 hours of buying and ~7 hours of selling weekly has been manageable. Also I've only been waking up ~9am every Sunday. This has been probably for the best. I could try buying turnips starting @ 5am on Sundays, but that would mean I'd have roughly 7 hrs x 20 trips/hr = 140 trips' worth of turnips. Unless I myself have a godly price on my own island that week, I'd have to go to other islands to sell. Therefore, the amount of time I'd need to sell on other people's islands would be 140 trips x 7.5min / 60min = 17.5 hrs. I don't really have the time to do that week to week as I'm (fortunately) still working full time.

My progress so far:
My profit has ranged from 50 million-100million bells per week, so at best this may take me another 7 weeks.

I could also start other revenue streams like selling flowers to other players but I think running turnip trips less mindful work. I'm able to watch Netflix while running turnips.
