Question about villagers you see at campsite or island?

Will these places keep showing you villagers whose personalities you don’t have? Just realized I don’t have a cranky or a snooty. Will the game now direct me towards these types?

No. I saw plenty of lazies, normals and peppies on islands when the only personality I didn’t have was cranky.

On the islands no (unfortunately) I was also looking for a cranky or a snooty.
So, as I didn't like any cranky I had found on the islands (among 2 jocks and one normal), I just let an empty plot on my island, to see if the game would put a random snooty or cranky. And I got a cranky.

I think that if a plot remains empty it will be purchased by a villager who has a personality we don't have yet

I’ve heard that personalities you don’t have are more common in the campsite and that seems to be true for me so far, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference for islands.
