Question about the villager placement trick

I just adopted a new villager and now I want to use the plot reset trick to place their house, but my question is how many days should I time travel--2 or 3? (It's the 25th in my game btw). I'm new to this so I don't want to mess up haha.

I convinced a villager from another village to move in and their plot showed up the day after they moved out of their previous town.

Day 1: Invite villager from campsite
Day 2: No plot
Day 3: Plot

I went to plot reset, but her house got into the perfect spot on the first try, no resetting required

It's only 1 day if you convinced them to come over from another town.
2 days when you convince them to come from the campsite.
