Question about terraforming and custom paths

So, I decided it's time to start terraforming and thought it would be a good idea to get rid of everything on my map so I could start from zero.

Now I have two questions.

1. Should I start terraforming from the front of my island or in the back? I feel starting in the back is easier because I will have many second and third level areas and it'll be better to be able to directly see how much space I need to not be hidden between those plateaued areas afterwards. But I also thinks starting from the airport would make more sense?

2. I always see people using the terraforming app to lay out custom paths, is there a difference to laying them out without the terraforming app? Because I usually place custom paths with the designer app cause it's much easier and faster.

2. The terraforming app allows you to choose where you place the custom paths. Also, most custom paths can be put on top of the terraforming paths, which makes them smoother!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is there an easier way to switch the currently used custom path in the terraforming app? I usually don't use it because I need to switch almost every step so the designer app was always easier to use

Unfortunately, probably not....are you switching to the custom path the bottom right option?

Sorry, I don't really understand I'm changing the custom path in the terraforming app buy pressing '+' on my switch, then the last place on the right where the terraforming paths are. The one I had to buy at the terminal before I could use it

Yes! That is what I was saying,,, Sadly that's the quickest way still. No better way to switch yet.

Ah ok, thank you so much for your help If there's no other difference in laying out the custom paths I think I will still use the designer app cause it's faster for me
