Question about save datas...

I have the physical version of Animal Crossing New Leaf, and I started my new game on my old 3DS. I was wondering if I could take out the cartridge and put it in my 3DS XL. Will anything happen to my save file if I put it in a different 3DS? Will I have to start all over again with my town and stuff?

No, all the data is happily stored on the cartridge. I let my brother play my games and he has my save file on them ^.^
