Question about PWPs

I can't remember where, but at some point I recall reading that if you remove a Public Works Project from your town you won't be able to put anything in the spot where it used to be ever again. Is this true?

I hope not. I removed a bunch of randomly placed pwp recently. But if there is a house or building too close you can't place a pwp. I learned this the hard way when I demolished a bridge and couldn't place a different one in the same spot because a villager had moved too close since the construction of the old one.

No, that's not true at all. I replaced all of my yellow benches with metal benches, and the new benches aren't even one squareoff from where the yellow ones were.

Thanks for clarifying that for me, its a relief to know that I can now move some of those projects that I hadn't thought out without hindering future projects.

Speaking from experience of the last few days, you will likely have lots of dirt and mud when you tear them down.

Yeah I kinda, guessed that to some degree, most are small and I was going to plant trees in place of some anyway so hopefully it wont look too ugly, thanks for the heads up though.

The thing you read may have been about bridges. Sometimes when you demolish a bridge, you cannot build another one in the same space because for some reason houses and PWPs can be put near an existing bridge, but to build a new bridge, you need a lot of space around the bridge to be open. You don't have to worry about it for any other PWP though, just bridges.

That's good to know. I wish I had known earlier about the bridge rules.

I think thats true for bridges that were already down when you chose the map and then when chose to remove them for some reason you can no longer put them in the same spot. Gee, now I really regret removing my bridge now. I hope Isabelle lets me put it back when I move Fuchsia out, otherwise that'll be a shame. I have big plans.
