Question about paintings... [resolved]

OK, so I bought a painting from a villager. However, it's one I already have in the museum, so Blathers won't check it. Does that mean it's real? Or is there still a chance it could be fake? If worse comes to worst, I guess I can just check myself. Thanks!

You can try to sell it at Re-Tail and Reese will say if it's a fake or not. If she's willing to buy it, it's real.
It could still be fake even if the museum has it.

It could be real or fake. If you take it to Reese and she charges you a disposal fee, then it's fake.

Try to sell it to retail. If its fake Reese will charge a disposal fee. Of course, you can say no afterwards
