I'm planning on getting the new 3ds xl when it releases and I was wondering when I transfer data since im using an animal crossing game card and not downloaded through the eshop if my town will get all wonky when I put my 3ds card into the new one.(sorry for the run on sentence) One time before I put my game card into my friends 3ds and I lost a villager because the time changed, so basically I'm just trying to ensure that my town wont get rekt from transferring ds to ds.

It shouldn't cause any problems, but is your ACNL game cartridge's date the same to the one now?
That might've been the reason why you lost a villager before. Or vice versa with the 3DS date

Since you have a game cartridge it should be easier to transfer to the new system than if you had to transfer SD card data and stuff like that. Just make sure everything is the same date as what you have in the current system. For example, if it's 12pm for the first system on Jan. 23, 2015. Make sure to change the new system to that exact date the current one is. Simple and easy as pie^^
