I?ve had a squirrel named Hazel in my town for around two months now, and I don?t care much for her being around. And so, I haven?t talked to her once, in hopes that she will move out. It recently came to my attention that perhaps she won?t move out until i talk to her a few times. Can someone please confirm this? Thanks!

Villagers can and do leave towns where theyve never met the player, they'll just sent a letter saying goodbye. In the meantime I'd suggest buy a net but that could be seen as mean...

There are two different methods I know of that have been successful for different people:

1. Befriend the villager you want to move out. This is the method I use and it has worked for me. Antonio moved in right over an area I had recently finished landscaping (my own fault for forgetting to plot reset), so I wanted him to move out quickly. I sent him perfect fruit in a welcome letter, talked to him daily, completed all of his requests and gave him gifts off of his recommended list and more perfect fruit. He pinged me to move in less than a month and was gone 10 days later.

2. Ignore the villager. I've heard some say that you should talk to the villager once to introduce yourself and then ignore them after that, but since I don't use this method I can't confirm that. But the idea is that if you ignore them, they will eventually leave, and since you're not talking to them, there's no chance for them to change their mind after they do decide to leave.

What I don't suggest doing is having minimal or negative contact with the villager you want to move out. If you start interacting with them, but don't gain a good level of friendship and they ping you to leave, they are more likely to change their mind and stay because they want to "work on your friendship."

In reality, I think it's completely random when it comes to which villager will want to move out on any given day. So to move a villager out more quickly, I suggest focusing on just that villager. Even if there are other villagers you're willing to let leave, I would deny their requests until you get Hazel out because each time you accept a request to leave from another villager, you have to wait that much longer for Hazel to decide to leave.

I hope this helps.

Ignoring/Attacking her is not going to help, but rather worsen the odds of her leaving.

You need to try and talk to her daily, at least 3 - 5 times a day. And complete a potential task she may ask if she asks during the three - five times you talk to her

If she pings to ask to move and she changes her mind, don't stress yourself out and simply just reset the game and ignore her until the day she gets out.
