Question about Lilly of the Valley Plants!

I am aware that the Lilly of the Valley flowers only grow on five star islands... or so I thought.
I've had a few random ones pop up here and there but every time I talk to Isabelle, I still only have four stars. My main issue is that I have to many trees, so my theory is that I'm tiptoeing along the line of the tree limit and just happened to hit five stars temporarily a few times while chopping/planting trees?

Is this possible???

It certainly is! All that matters is if you have five stars by the time 5 AM rolls over to get a chance of having them spawn.

yep, the same thing was happening to me for a while. just spruce up the town even more to solidify the 5 stars

Besides trees, do you have any items dropped on the floor? You can only 15 items or so dropped before it lowers your rating!
