Question about Dream Addresses?

A friend visited my DA today and when she posted the picture I noticed I'm not holding the umbrella I had when I updated it.
Do things like that normally change?
What if I updated on a day when Katie was there?
Will she not show up in the dream?
What other things are different in DA?

I don't believe Katie can show up in your Dream Address? And I think if you stop holding the umbrella period, you won't be holding it in the dream either.

Sorry, if I'm incorrect! I've never made a dream address with how unfinished my town is, but these could be possible answers?

Whatever you go into the dream suite wearing is what you will look like when you update. So if you have an umbrella or cup of coffee or anything held, it'll be put away before you enter a building that's why. The nickname your villagers will also not be told to the dreamer, only catchphrases and greetings. Any holiday event shouldn't show up, like festivale or easter, I'm not sure about the standees though but I'm pretty sure they don't show up either in dreams. The only NPCs that should show up are the only that are always there like Copper or Booker if you have the police station, Porter, and your villagers of course. Wendell will also be there if you allow people to look at your QR stuff.

No problem and yeah, I know what you mean. I kinda want my character to be more interactive too like throwing beans at dreamers lol since I was holding some before updating.

I've been to a dream town where the mayor is holding an umbrella (Moonvale, dream adress 5000-4508-4599)
It seems you'll only be holding the umbrella if it's raining.

It's the plain one so in case you wanted to show a different umbrella or your own pattern it's not really the same, but yeah you're right.
