Anyone have any suggestions on how to make your villagers request them? I've been playing for a month and I've only had one request so far!

Have you heard of the diving trick? That's how you get PWPs faster.

I written a guide on GameFAQs. One of the sections is on the diving trick.

Basically;

a) Don your wetsuit, and fill up your pockets with something villagers won't ask for - tools, seashells... I can't think of anything else, I use seashells personally.
b) Hop in the ocean, and set your game down (or swim around if you want, maybe catch some sea creatures) for 5 minutes. I usually go by the games clock and wait 6 just to be sure.
c) Get out of the water, and start walking in front of all of your villagers who are currently outside. One of them should ping.
d) Repeat until you get a request.

And since they won't be able to ask to buy/sell things, chances are higher that they will request a PWP. They may also ask you for catchprhrases or nicknames and all that, but hey.

I do this too. It works really well. I usually get one a day and then I give up for that day and take a break.

It's honestly your best bet.

simply fellow these tips... works all the time for me:

1.)get a wetsuit, and fill up your pockets with something villagers won't ask for - tools, seashells and other stuff

2) Hop in the ocean, and set your game down but DO NOT PUT IT IN SLEEP MODE (or swim around if you want, maybe catch some sea creatures) for 5 minutes. I usually wait a bit longer just to make sure tho...

3) Get out of the water, and start walking in front of all of your villagers who are currently outside. One of them should ping... (fingers crossed)

4) Repeat until you get a request. simple.

Did you seriously just copy and paste and then slightly alter that? What was the point? ;-;

Anyways, as Shimmer said, I forgot to mention that one a day is usually the max, so I stop after that as well. I've heard you can get more than one but it will take a long time so I don't think it's worth bothering.
