Fueled by my realization that I might have to sacrifice hours of work and a straight shot path for nicer landscaping, I thought it might be fun to hear such stories from other people |D Forests gone wrong? PWP layouts that looked great on a grid but not so much in reality? Villager housing layouts that reveal themselves as nearly unworkable after everyone?s moved in? All sounds like good salty fun |D

?

In my case, I?m trying to set up a forest and fountain showpiece... but the best area for it is smack-dab in the middle of my clearest path from main street to the beach lol. After I?ve already set up natural bamboo fencing/pathing as a guide, and laid out a lot of forest, there?s been a lot of uprooting & there?s probably going to be a whooole lot more bells sunk before a good layout truly emerges.

My town of Secret was made for a different theme, battle of dark and light. All the residents would crowd near the light, except one who was (unfairly) banished to the dark.

However, once I started, I was like 'you know what? I don't want to make a horror town anymore.' Laying out the pathwork is hard, landscaping around the pathwork is hard, and I don't want the villagers living where they are anymore. But the way this town is set up, I can't really make them move anywhere else. I would just recreate the town if it not for the fact that this town has the most complete catalogue. I can't sell my town yet, not only is the tree not big enough, but I don't feel like paying off my 7mil+ house just to sell the town, but I might have to. BUT I also don't feel like investing so much work in a town that might not look good.

In my old town there’s a corner of the town plaza that has a rock right next to it. I like to plant trees all around surrounding it, so to have that rock has always bothered me ( though it’s not the worst thing that could happen so I never minded it ). Recently I restarted my town and I had quite a day restarting the the town and getting specific town map that I favor, and the grass that I prefer, etc which is very important to me. After a whole day of restarting and setting up my new to to my specifications, I was a little bit disappointed to find out that on the plaza I have that same rock from before in the Same spot. I was kind of hoping I wasn’t going to see that rock.

Ah yes rocks. Such a permanent annoyance. I hate that rocks are put near buildings, cause hello I need a path to them, but the random rocks drive me crazy when I plot animals houses.

I know what you mean! When I was picking out the map, I was specifically looking for rocks at the bottom of the map. I can’t have rocks at the bottom of the map because I like to have my villagers all lines up in a line all across. I was sooo focused on there not being rocks there that I didn’t think to check the plaza. Though my map is pretty awesome I think ( the rock is not really a big problem)....but I would have loved to not see it.

That’s some truly amazing haunting right there xD Ugh, maybe AC switch’ll give us a pickaxe or jackhammer or /something/ for us to clear out Bog Rocks.

My town has a few too many permarocks for my liking... >.< there’s two right against town hall that really throw off any bush/tree edging, and a few in other various inconvenient places...

Back when I first put down the well PWP, I didn't have paths at all. When I made a lay-out with temporary patterns, I decided to make a little forest-y area around the well. Planted trees, flowers, and the like. But the way that it's set up I can't place any PWPs around the well without destroying the paths! No log benches, no water pumps, it's all a very awkward area to cross, and I might have to re-do the entire thing :I
