Purple tulips?

Does anyone have any tips for breeding purple tulips? I've tried a few combos I saw online but no success yet. If you've made some, which colour combos did you use?

I spent forever trying to get them.
I finally gave up and bought 2 from someone else and used them with a jacob's ladder to breed more on the beach. Did the same with purple pansies.
If you get tired of the work, that's what I'd suggest. The 3rd generation hybrids are such a pain.

I have the prima guide. It says you need to breed pink and black tulips together, though I haven't tried it myself.

I just gather orange tulips in a grid-like pattern and eventually got a purple. Keep trying! It's worth it in the end if you don't want to buy.

I wanna say mine were gotten from breeding red tulips. Then breeding purples once I got a set. I can give you some extra if you'd like.

Some posters said black and others said orange. So I put some black and some orange tulips together. In the middle of the orange and black tulips I found my first purple tulip.

Red and yellow tulips for the orange tulip, then from those two orange tulips spawned purple tulips.
It might take some time, good luck!

Yep, orange tulips make purple. There were actually pretty easy for me to breed once I got the hang of it.
