Purple pansies won't reproduce?!

Tl;dr: purple pansies keep spawning red and blue pansies. Tried all the stuff the guides said. Help.

Yesterday, I purchased two purple pansies from another forum member. I initially placed them diagonally away from other flowers, put fertilizer near them, and watered them. I time traveled to the next day (and the next, and the next) and did the same thing. They didn't grow. So I put each purple pansy with a blue pansy and placed them diagonally. Nothing. So I got the two purple pansies and three blue pansies and placed them in a grid like pattern, which has worked with all of my other hybrids. This pattern has spawned some blue pansies but no purples. Does anyone have any tips? I'm getting desperate!

I usually just water them, no fertilizer and they reproduce. Not as quickly as the blue one though. I can give you two others if you like.

I placed them on the beach, but it didn't do anything :/ I do that with all hybrids that I don't have many of that I'm trying to grow.

Make sure to get legitimate flowers from people. If they're hacked, they will not breed at all and only give out other colors. I made that mistake not asking on tumblr only to realize months later they were hacked. :/

If yours made blue pansies, then I'm sure they're legit. I'd buy 2 more purple and then try again. Good luck!

Just found that out while watching a Twitch live stream. That would explain why some players are not getting the hybrids.

Yeah, it would! And there's no way of knowing if the flowers are hacked besides the fact that they won't spawn the flowers you want? Are there any benefits of having hacked flowers?

It might help if those are the only two flowers that you are watering (idk if you're already doing that). Only a set amount of hybrids pop up in your town each day, so if you're only watering the purple pansies I think it'll increase your chances of them being the new hybrids that spawn.

I planted two purple pansies side by side, watered them and only a couple other flowers (do NOT water a ton of other flowers) and they bred purple pansies that way.

I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I read somewhere that there are "pure" hybrids which are bred from two of the same hybrid and will only produce that hybrid when they breed and "mixed" hybrids which are bred from other flowers which produce other flowers besides just the hybrid (if you have a basic understanding of genetics, you know what I'm talking about). I know I got some blue roses from someone, and those roses and any roses I breed from those only produce other blue roses. I think I also got the same thing to happen with purple pansies, but I don't exactly remember because I don't breed them like crazy. Still, if someone sold you purple pansies, then you'd think they would be "pure" because most people wouldn't be selling purple pansies which came from the special red pansies, so I don't really know exactly how they work.
