Okay, so recently I've been trying to stop TTing. I've been TTing since Wild World. Since I was starting fresh with new leaf I wanted to try to not TT. But I'm so tempted to! grrr.

So I'd like to know some of the pros and cons of TTing.

READY...
SET...
GO!

I guess that waiting for the stores too unlock and upgrade, and waiting for the daily visitors is part of the main excitment of the game, but honestly besides the weeds and wilted flowers (that can be prevented with the Beatuiful Town Ordinance) I don't see that many cons to TT. I understand why some people prefer not to do it, but I think is fun. Why do you want to stop?

As long as you don't TT weeks or months ahead, there shouldn't be too dire of consequences. The main thing is that turnips will obviously spoil, but also villagers may move out without you realizing, weeds will grow faster, roaches, bedhead, etc. Most people TT ahead to unlock stuff faster, but they also utilize it when trading villagers or forcing unwanted ones to move out.

Pros

- Allows you to participate certain events earlier
- Finish any fully-funded PWP
- Have more villagers to move if you have 8 or less
- Upgrade your house(s) if requested
- Allows you to catch certain bugs/fishes/sea lives without having to wait
- Missed an event? No problem! You can just time travel to that date
- Allows more flexible gaming schedule
- Retain your turnips fresh by setting a few minutes after the last time saved (taking note of the last time you saved is really helpful)
- Had a pathetic turnip price pattern? Time travel a day back to reset the pattern

Cons

- More weeds (that can be drastically reduced if you set your town into "Beautiful" ordinance)
- Wilted flowers if neglected (that won't happen if you set your town into "Beautiful" ordinance)
- Villagers may move out if neglected, while you have more than 8 (directly skipping for weeks/months/years won't automatically trigger it)
- Turnips can spoil if you time travel backwards

Honestly, there's no point of abandonning time travelling. If you know quite well on how to do it like a pro, you'd be much less concerned.

i went all the way to 2050 just to see who would stay and no one left

I actually love it. I just TT days at a time but always return to the current day. I only TT however to move villagers out and to trade or receive. It's worth it.

Con: This thread is bound to start fights. We've addressed this a few times already, so please. If you want to discuss TTing, use the group dedicated to it.
