Slated to launch in February of 2008 in North America, Professor Layton is bound to a hit if it gets the attention it needs by Nintendo.

Basically, Professor Layton and the Curious Village consists of a collection of puzzles with adventure style exploration between minigames. Professor Layton and the Curious Village combines a traditional narrative with puzzle focused gameplay similar to that of Nintendo's extremely popular Brain Training series.

In Professor Layton and the Curious Village, you'll be expected to solve 130 unique puzzles in order to solve the mysteries of a village. Puzzles range from mazes and riddles to logic and sliding puzzles. The Touch Screen controls make working through puzzles fun for players of all skill levels. To make things even better, new puzzles are added each week through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection!

Fully voice acted scenes animated scenes bring the story to life, while the eccentric villagers and the hand-drawn art provide a charm that appeals to gamers and non-gamers alike. No wonder Professor Layton and the Curious Village sold over 1,000,000 copies in Japan in 2007.

Closing Comments

Overall, Professor Layton and the Curious Village is going to be one of the best games of 2007. If the game wouldn't good, why would so many copies be sold in Japan. 1,000,000 copies is a lot of Professor Layton and the Curious Village is a lot of games. Lets just hope that it will be a sucess in North America as well.

My Anticipation Rating: 10/10
